2) Hosting & Server Infrastructure (Google Cloud)
Our website and associated database are hosted on the infrastructure of Google Cloud Platform (service provider for users in the EEA and Switzerland: Google Cloud EMEA Limited, 70 Sir John Rogerson's Quay, Dublin 2, Ireland).
The primary server location and data center are in the region europe-west1 (Belgium, European Union). When visiting our website, Google Cloud processes technical server log data (including IP address, date and time of access, volume of data transferred, browser type, and operating system) to ensure operational security, system stability, and defense against cyber attacks. Data processing agreements including standard contractual clauses (SCC) approved by the European Commission are in place to ensure an adequate level of data protection.
3) Contacting Us
If you contact us via email, telephone, or through forms on the website, the data you provide (e.g., name, email address, phone number, message) will be stored by us for the purpose of processing your inquiry and in case of follow-up questions.
We will not pass on this data to unauthorized third parties without your explicit consent.
4) Data Storage / Course Booking & Contract Processing
When you register yourself or your child for a swimming course, private lesson, or summer adventure camp, we process personal data necessary for course administration and contract fulfillment, in particular:
- First and last name (parents/guardians and course participants)
- Residential address (for course administration and billing)
- Phone number and email address (for booking confirmations, group allocations, and emergency contact)
- Participant's date of birth / age (for appropriate level and age allocation)
- Course details (location, skill level, course schedule, booking information)
- Billing and payment details (invoice number, payment status)
The data provided is necessary for the fulfillment of our contract or pre-contractual measures. During our current system transition, we accept registrations directly via email and telephone. Data is only transferred to third parties where legally required or strictly necessary for execution (e.g., banking institutions for payment processing, tax/accounting services to fulfill statutory commercial retention obligations).
5) Retention Period
Inquiries that do not lead to a contract will be deleted once the inquiry is resolved. In the event of course bookings, we retain contract- and billing-related data in accordance with statutory retention requirements (generally 10 years under Swiss accounting law).

To protect the privacy of all visitors, taking photos or recording videos is strictly prohibited in changing areas, showers, and indoor pool facilities.
Photos or videos taken by Marco Polo Sport for informational or marketing purposes (website, flyers, social media) are only captured and used with prior explicit consent from participants or their legal guardians. This consent can be revoked at any time with effect for the future.
